Little Banjo is feeling very sleepy after having anaesthetic to have an abscess seen to and drained by Dr James at the Ulverstone Vet Clinic.
This is the third abscess in the same place in a 12 month period. All the teeth in that area had been removed 12 months ago.
We are hoping the strong course of antibiotics will stop anymore from forming. Because it is a different not very nice form of abscess that is coming from in the bone Banjo may require a MRI to be done in Hobart and specialised surgery to remove the offending bone if they keep reoccurring.
So sad to see the dear little boy unwell and in pain as abscesses are very painful!
Little Banjo’s report from James his Vet at the Ulverstone Veterinary Clinic was not what we really wanted. After a longer than normal course of Antibiotics to clear up the remains of his abscess on his face after it was drained has not been 100% successful.
There are still remains of the abscess. Another course of Antibiotics for the next two weeks then back to see James again. It is looking highly probable that he will need to go to Hobart for a MRI.
