Quite a few working bees were held this month in preparation for moving into the Hannah Farm on the 30th of September
The hedge growing through the front fence was removed and the fence around the unit and house pulled down ready for the fencing contractor to erect the new one.
Trevor looked quite at home on the farm tractor pulling out old fence posts, after which Shane mowed the fence line.
The Tree Doctor took out some trees that were in the way of the new fence line and dangerous for the power lines. The trees were all mulched and left on the property for future use. The four wheeler with the trailer on behind came in very handy cleaning up. Numerous loads of branches etc were taken up to the burn pile. Alison, Janice, Julie, Sam, Terry & Rita raked and cleaned up a big area then planted some trees. A lot of Gladiolus bulbs that Julie donated were planted outside the Unit too
Head gardener Gloria made a start on our massive enclosed garden. She is going to get rows of carrots and broccoli planted first. We plan on growing all the vegetables organically that the dogs have in their meals. Anyone who knows our President and Founder, Rita, knows that the dog’s diet is so very important to her.
The skirting boards in the Unit have been painted, the tiles and Vinyl Floor Boards laid, and lots of cleaning done to get it ready for the Carer and the Boys to move in.
John replaced the sensor security lights and also received a good Television signal in both the unit and the house.
